Knocking the cobwebs off with some down and dirty stuff. Breaking in a new sketchbook always goes faster if you fill up the first few pages with some quick, loose images.
The markers, acrylics and watercolors you haven’t touched in a year are great for this. Break out those oil pastels you got for Christmas three years ago from Aunt Linda and make a mess “free drawing” without a pencil.
Let go with some automatic drawing and put down whatever comes to mind. It’ll probably be terrible, but don’t worry ’cause no one gives a shit.
